Why is There So Much Hate in the Car Community?
In pretty much any aspect of life, a lot of times, people might start feeling insecure or inadequate and therefore, find the need to chase down and attack other people for what they like. There’s a very fine line to be drawn here and I think that the best guideline to live your life by is really that if you don’t have anything nice to say do not say anything at all, as cliche as that may be. At the end of the day, if you’re somebody who walks around talking negatively about everything you see, you’re going to end up affecting yourself negatively and making people not want to be around you.
This type of negative viewpoint is certainly one that happens to run rampant in the car community. It’s not really clear what it is that makes people interact like this but a lot of times, you’ll find that even the most friendly of people have the need to chime in about one community or another, some sort of modification that they don’t like, or something else that might be a little bit different than what they’re used to. It really seems like there are a lot of people in this community that don’t accept the “different strokes for different folks” mentality but continue to single out certain groups and talk about them in a negative light… constantly.
Now, we get both sides of his coin. If somebody is walking around demanding respect and obviously hasn’t paid their dues, it’s not something that you’re going to just fold in to, however, on the other hand, I think there are a good amount people who could be a little bit more friendly when it comes to things that don’t exactly meet their tastes. If you follow along with the video below, the folks over at Gears and Gasoline do a pretty good job of dissecting exactly what it is that creates so much hate in the car community and how we might be able to make it a better place.
