Why You Make Sure You Always Set the Parking Brake When You’re on a Ferry
It doesn’t take a genius to realize that should you take your car on the ferry, it might be a good idea to make sure that it’s securely in park and that the handbrake or emergency brake is firmly planted so that it doesn’t roll around as the boat floats through the sea.
In this demonstration, we catch up with a car whose owners prove to be quite negligent as it sat on the back of the boat and rolled right off into the ocean, complete with whatever belongings were left behind in the truck to go down in the drink. This is probably the quickest way to a total loss that we can think of.
Seeing something like this really leads one to wonder if someone wasn’t just sick of their car and decided to leave the brake off on purpose. Insurance will cover the damages anyway, right? One thing is for sure, this truck is toast!
Check out the footage below as someone was able to pull out their cell phone with enough time to watch the truck roll right on off of the ferry and float for a little while before inevitably finding its way down to a watery gravesite. If this was truly an accident, you can’t help but feel for the people who owned the truck. We’re willing to wager that this is a mistake that they certainly will not be making again anytime soon.
