109-Year-Old Veteran and His Secrets to Life Will Make You Smile | Short Film Showcase
No matter who you’re talking to, how old they are, or what their social status is, everybody in life looks at things through their very own set of eyes. We all have different ways of seeing things based on our past experiences and the way that we were brought up. That’s a big part of what makes life so awesome with so many different people out there.
This time, we check out a video that attempts to capture how exactly Richard Arvin Overton sees life. It turns out that he has a little bit different of a perspective from most people on this Earth. Richard has had the opportunity to live all the way to 109-years-old and it turns out that he has picked up some pretty solid lessons along his journey to get where he is today.
I think that by trying to explain in detail about his story would probably end up selling him a little bit short because hearing the words come from his own lips really brings life to his saga. One thing is for sure, though, it really seems like Richard has chosen to take a path of the most simplicity through not taking on complex ideas like credit cards or fancy possessions in choosing to live in one house and drive one vehicle for as long as he possibly can. By the way, at 109, you can still find him behind the wheel of his old Ford pickup truck.
No matter who you are or where you find yourself in life, I think that this World War II veteran can really shed a lot of light on how exactly it might be better for a lot of folks to take a path of less resistance, focusing on the things that make you happy and then keeping them in place for as long as you possibly can. If you check out the video down below, you can ride along as Richard tells us just a little bit about what life has been for him up until this point.
