2019 Ford F150 SVT Lightning 5.0 Coyote

There are certain models that reside in the past and we can’t help but want to see them come back to life again. For example, the Ford SVT Lightning that was nixed back in 2004 is a platform that truck enthusiasts have found a way to love. All these years later, we see people still putting the truck up on a pedestal. Unfortunately, Ford has no plans of bringing this thing back anytime soon. Maybe one day, they will change their tune if the single cab performance truck market comes back around again. However, for now, some of the aftermarket renditions really have piqued our interest.

For those looking to get a little bit of Lightning flavor in their lives, there are plenty of dealerships ready to install packages to bring back the sweet nostalgia. In addition, they also do great justice to these trucks by making them fast once again. In this particular situation, we catch up with a pickup fitted with a 5.0 L Coyote engine topped with a Whipple Supercharger. It appears to be one of those aforementioned dealer packages and we have to admit that this thing does a great job of bringing to life how we would picture a modern-day Lighting to look.

Anyway, in the video below from Boostaholics, we catch up with the truck as it takes a ride to Forza Tuned for some suspension diagnostics. It turns out that the truck was making a little bit of noise and the driver couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. After getting to the bottom of the issue, we watch in awe as the truck absolutely screams down the street. There’s something about that positive displacement supercharged combination that has us wanting more. This isn’t a truck that competitors are going to want to sleep on!
