2019 World Series MVP Stephen Strasburg Receives 2019 C8 Corvette Sting Ray
Each and every year, following the World Series of baseball, Chevrolet has a little bit of a gift ready for the MVP. As a marketing maneuver, the brand gives out a vehicle that is new or perhaps needs some sort of visibility. With the 2019 World Series, the most obvious choice was none other than the C8 Chevrolet Corvette. Hot off the presses, the world can’t wait to get their hands on the car.
For those who have been following the situation closely, they know that the 2020 Corvette is a complete overhaul. In favor of the traditional layout that had the engine in the front of the car, the 2020 switches it up. The engine will now shift to the middle of the vehicle. This is a massive paradigm shift with the model. Ever since its conception, the Corvette has kind of been seen as Chevrolet’s baby.
No moves that they have made with any other cars like the Camaro would dare to step into Corvette territory. They even went so far as detuning the same engine so the Camaro would make less than the Corvette on paper. It was a car that had been very carefully handled with no unnecessary risks taken. The long story short of it all is that this calculation has really paid off over the years. The Corvette has become one of the most popular sports cars in the world.
As of now, the C8 has yet to see the streets for consumers. This year, the US Vice President of Chevrolet, Brian Sweeny, would present one of the first models to Washington Nationals pitcher, Stephen Strasburg. Not only have the Nationals managed to take home the most prestigious trophy in all of baseball. Now, their pitcher is going to be able to be one of the first to drive one of the most cutting edge vehicles in the automotive industry. The C8 is going to be a nice cherry on top for the celebration in DC.
