2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R (700 HP) vs Toyota GR Supra Drag Race

The Ford F-150 Raptor R and the Toyota GR Supra are both machines that were built to go fast. Other than that, we are kind of hard pressed to find anything that they have in common. However, the crew over at Hoonigan decided that it would be the perfect pair to put up against one another in a drag race and we tend to agree.

In one corner, with the Raptor R, we find a pick up truck that’s about as aerodynamic as a brick. Before the folks at Ford hooked the platform up with performance components, it was made to haul cargo. However, with the upgrades from the folks at Ford, that brick does offer 700 hp thanks to a 5.2L supercharged V8. It also has a four-wheel-drive system that promises a nice little launch out of the hole if the driver really wants to get into the throttle. However, even though this thing has big power, theweight disadvantage as the truck sits at 6000 pounds and the aforementioned lack of aerodynamics definitely level the playing field for a potential competitor.

In the other corner, the GR Supra offers much less horsepower at 440 hp thanks to a 3.0L turbocharged V6. However, at 3400 pounds, the Supra brings serious weight savings to the table in comparison to its competitor here. However, as this is a traditional drag race, the rear wheel drive setup might prove to be a little bit of a disadvantage as well.

Below, we watch as all of these different factors are thrown into a pressure cooker to see which one of these awesome machines will be able to gather an edge on the other in straight line combat! As each machine couldn’t be any more different from the next, even coming from different continents of origin, it’s incredibly interesting to see how they stack up against one another.
