’46 Ford Willys is a True One-of-a-Kind Rat Rod
One of our favorite things about automotive culture is that custom builds can take on just about any face that they want. In fact, the more creative that somebody gets to build something that the community has never seen before, the more likely it is to be a hit!
If you’re looking for a different build that takes on some sort of unique flavor or high level of craftsmanship, the crew over at AutotopiaLA usually features all sorts of machines like this. This time, it’s absolutely no exception as we check in with a ride that we are sure steals the attention every time that it goes to a show or car meet.
In fact, even the machine that it started out as is so unique that we’re sure that more than a couple of folks will have questions. When we hear that this is a Ford Willys, right from the get-go we were a little bit confused. Apparently, though, at one point or another, Ford was called in for production when Willys couldn’t get the job done. With that, we have a unique batch of Jeeps riding around out there, this being one of the rare Ford Willys examples.
From there, things only get better and better. In addition to the slick patina on this rat rod-esque machine, we find an airbag suspension that allows the Jeep to sit completely flush with the ground which definitely adds a pretty awesome twist to the mix.
By following along with the video below, we check in with the rat rod Willys that has the heart of a Lincoln MKVIII under the hood. When all is said and done, the goal of this build is to be a unique beach cruiser and we would venture to say that it’s a job very well done and mission accomplished.
