This Guy Built a Mini Pocket Bike From Scratch – The X18 Custom Pocketbike
Pocket bikes, even the smallest and stock-est of them, are plenty powerful enough to hurt you. Most of them have 40cc to 150cc engines and top out between 30 and 60 MPH.
That just wasn’t enough of this guy, who took a full-on drag bike approach to his X18 custom pocketbike. This miniature crotch rocket has been stoked and bored out to 200CC worth of displacement, features a 30mm Mikuni carburetor and a drag bike exhaust. It’s also been lowered 2″ in the front and stretched out nine inches out back. Using a 30 tooth rear sprocket lets this pocket rocket hit 75 MPH in the 1/8th mile and top out at 85 on top end runs.
As you can see in this video, the minibike is more than capable of taking down these other mini bikes and full size quads, and with that trap speed in the eighth, it could likely outrun its fair share of sports cars on the track. Can’t deny this guy has taken an unusual approach to going fast, but the cool factor is through the roof! Maybe next time he can line up with a Mustang or Camaro and see if he can hold is own!
