The “Daymak C5” Go Kart Prototype Testing – Worlds Fastest Go Kart 0-60 in 1.5 Seconds
It looks like a Canadian company has taken karting to a whole new level, and we have some footage that is absolutely mind blowing. Daymak is the company, and their kart is dubbed the Blast C5 and it is pure electric insanity on four tiny wheels. Featuring a futuristic profile, the C5 certainly looks the part of “wicked fast go kart”, and as soon as the rider drops the throttle pedal, the kart blasts to 60 MPH from a standing start in a ridiculous 1.5 seconds.
To put that into perspective, Dodge’s Challenger Demon, the quickest production car ever built, takes 2.3 seconds to hit 60, meaning this little kart will have nearly a full second advantage in this particular category. We doubt the Damak C5 can keep up this insane acceleration through the quarter mile, but if it could, eight second quarter mile times would be within reach. Of course, these karts aren’t designed for straight line performance, as they will spend most of their time ripping around tightly twisting tracks alongside several other karters, but at least the riders will know that as soon as they hit the “go” pedal, the brushless motor will provide gobs of on-demand torque to keep them pressed against the seat back.
We can’t help but see some parallels between this kart and the Tesla P100D, another all electric ride that dropped onto the market and changed the game. With unique styling, a massive amount of power and torque, and some stunning performance, there are certainly similarities, and those extend to the pricing as well. Daymak sells two versions of the Blast kart, a mild Standard version that goes 0-60 in a still very respectable 3.9 seconds, and the Ultimate version, which is the 1.5 seconds-to-60 iteration. The Standard goes for $9,999 US dollars, while the Ultimate will set you back $59,999 American dollars, meaning its going to be out of the reach of all but the wealthiest of buyers.
