Digging into the 2019 Chevy Blazer – What are Your Thoughts?

Chevy, GM, General Motors, Blazer, 2019, Suv, New

My, oh my, how things have changed. It wasn’t too long ago that we were staring straight down the barrel of gas prices approaching seven dollars per gallon. It almost seems like a dystopian fantasy when compared to the gas prices that we have today. Not too many years ago, a prediction of vehicles getting bigger probably wouldn’t be one that would be met with any sort of optimism. In fact, we would be so inclined think that such a prediction probably would be laughed off quite a bit. In an age where it seemed like everything was heading toward the “fuel efficiency at all costs” model, these big SUVs and trucks were certainly falling by the wayside.

As we fast forward to 2019, the landscape has certainly changed a good bit. It seems as if Americans have swung away from their love of compact economy cars and have once again found a way to be passionate about bigger machines. Because of this, automakers have paid attention and seemingly doubled down on their efforts in this area, naturally so. With this effort comes some nameplates that we kind of lost sight of that are back with the aim of grabbing attention once again.

This time, we take a look at a platform that we thought Chevy had laid to rest for good. Instead, though, it appears as if they are definitely interested in taking another shot at the Chevrolet Blazer. The last time that we caught a Blazer release, the year was 2005.

The platform has certainly had its peaks and valleys but 2019 is the year of a Blazer that’s like no other. There’s certainly no denying that this thing has been brought into the future. It has been adapted in about every single way to match today’s market. In fact, outside of the mid-size SUV class and some styling cues, this Blazer is all new. The video below from Roadshow takes us a long way toward learning all that we possibly can about GM’s revival of the midsize SUV.
