Florida Highway Patrol Adds Hemi Powered Challenger To It's Fleet

Traditionally, we expect police officers to be driving the same kind of vehicles. These offer a distinct headlight design that pops up in the rearview mirror and makes our hearts drop. However, it seems as if there are some police troops around the country that like to mix it up a little bit sometimes. Furthermore, if we travel to somewhere like Dubai, it will have some of the most exotic vehicles imaginable for their police officers.

For the Florida Highway Patrol, it turns out that they wanted to add a little bit of American muscle to the fleet. Troop G’s newest addition would come in the form of the 2019 Dodge Challenger. The Challenger is fitted with a 5.7 L Hemi. It’s not supercharged as a Hellcat or Demon but should be enough to get the job done.

I’m not really sure that a vehicle like this will actually be used for high-speed pursuits. Anything beyond what a traditional police car could do would probably be pretty dangerous. When a suspect is going that fast, breaking out the helicopter would probably the best course of action anyway. It’s kind of hard to run away when police have an advantage in the sky!

However, what a car like this might do is be able to help with police and civilian relations. After all, we are in a day and age where it is very important for civilians and law enforcement to communicate with one another. Something like a Dodge Challenger could be a good way for a dialogue to get going.
