1,000hp Chevy Rat Rod That Gaps Everything It Lines Up Next To, Costs Under $10,000 To Build
For a lot of people who are hesitant to jump into a build, one of the main considerations is money. After all, it might look like most of the fast cars out there have a ton of capital sunken into them. Sometimes, a big bank account is a good way to get going on something fast. However, it’s not always the only answer to making a machine go.
Sometimes, with a strong foundation, creativity can go just as far as a little bit of cash. Sure, in order to put together a hot rod, there is going to have to be some sort of financial investment. However, not everything has to be top of the line or even bought off of the shelf at all.
Enter “Rusty.”
We would tell you what platform the truck was built from but it’s not necessarily that easy. The machine combines components from both full-size and mini trucks of all ages. All of the donors seem to be of Chevrolet descent but other than that, it’s fair game! All of it comes together in an aggressive-looking rat rod that ended up costing under $10,000.
Now, we know what most people are probably thinking at this point. For that price, there’s no way that this thing could possibly be fast and look good. Well, that’s where they’re wrong. Not only is Rusty an absolute head turner but it also manages to crank out 1000 hp. We don’t need to provide a spoiler alert to tell you that’s enough horsepower to end up upsetting its fair share of opponents.
By following along in the video below, we get to catch up with the truck in all of its glory. That Racing Channel certainly does a wonderful job of filling in all the gaps with the backstory here. Watching this one is enough to motivate even the most frugal of mechanics!
