Pulling Tree Stumps is a Dangerous Game, Watch a Tree Go Flying.
For those who have ever pulled a tree stump out of the ground or watched somebody do the task, they know that an incredible amount of force is required for the job. The tree’s roots can hold in their seemingly cemented home sometimes. This can result in chains and straps that go flying. Said flying straps might end up breaking windows, ankles, or whatever is in their path. Therefore, it is very necessary to exercise caution or leave it to the professionals. We wouldn’t want anyone to end up in the hospital, after all.
This time, the video uploader offers up a little bit of a public safety PSA. The video warns of the dangers of pulling a stump out without taking proper precautions.
While he contests that most of the time a tree will simply tear apart until it falls over, sometimes, like in this scenario, the situation on hand was a little bit different.
It’s a little bit difficult to see from the video exactly how far the stump traveled. We’re told that as soon as it was released from the ground, the chunk of wood flew a good 15 feet in the blink of an eye. It doesn’t take a genius to know that a piece of wood flying like that could be dangerous. Nobody needs to meet a tree stump flying through the air with a good head of steam.
If someone was standing in the way of this thing, it could have definitely delivered a fatal blow. We know that, at a minimum, the recipient of the stump would’ve ended up in a world of pain.
The lesson to be learned here: be extremely careful when using forces like these and be sure that you stay out of the way! If you’re unsure, maybe enlisting a professional is the best course of action!
