Dodge Unveils NEW Daytona, Their Most Powerful Charger Ever

If there is one company that has really given itself a complete facelift in the performance arena, it’s Dodge. There is no denying that over the past couple of years, the company has really hit its marks. It all began to come around full circle with the Hellcat platform. Boasting the highly marketed 707 horsepower, this would mark the most powerful vehicle ever produced by the automaker.

Not too long after that, Dodge would follow up with the knockout punch. The Dodge Demon would prove to be one of the most awesome mass-produced vehicles that the automotive community had seen in quite some time.

These days, the hype of the Demon has finally managed to cool off. However, it looks like Dodge is back at the drawing board yet again, going after a new plan.

For the 2020 model year, the company plans to unleash its most powerful Charger ever. Essentially, the model will be built off of the preexisting Dodge Charger Hellcat Widebody platform. With just a couple of add ons, the car has a sort of special feel to it.

Previously, the 707 hp Charger Hellcat would be the most powerful to ever exist. However, Dodge plans on bringing back the Daytona nameplate. With the revival, the car will retain the 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat engine. It will produce 717 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque, though. Essentially, the vehicle will be a more aggressively tuned version of the Hellcat. All mechanical workings will remain the same.

Only 501 units of the Daytona will be available when they hit the market. This pays homage to the 1969 Charger Daytona which was released in the same quantity. Appearance additions will include the Daytona branding toward the rear of the car along with a different spoiler.

The car will be available in B5 Blue, Pitch Black, Triple Nickel, and White Knuckle. B5 Blue will be exclusive to the model. We’re not sure how many more exclusive releases Dodge is going to do. We have to admit that we’re incredibly interested to see what they come up with next, though!
