Homer Simpson Makes a Car – Will the Simpsons Predict the Future Again?
I guess that one could say that at 31 seasons and counting, The Simpsons has been pretty successful. In fact, it’s pretty hard to point to another show that comes close to this magnitude of success.
Within the cartoon, we find lots of different ways in which writers try to comedically reach out and relate to real-life issues. One particular real-life issue that many Americans might notice is in car selection. Sometimes, automakers might not have a car just for you. Instead, the landscape seems to be obsessed with basic economy cars. I guess that, at the end of the day, automakers are really chasing a person’s spending habits. Sometimes, this can lack personality.
However, in one episode of The Simpsons, the producers hand the keys over to Homer Simpson to design his very own perfect vehicle. With this vehicle, Homer starts to outline some things that the stereotypical American would probably like to have in their vehicle.
Some of these things include massive cupholders and a bubble in the backseat to contain the noise of children. Obviously, this is an attempt at humor from the show. However, with the Simpson’s history of predicting the future with things like Donald Trump becoming president and autocorrect coming to life, perhaps, these more obscure features might be available in the future.
By following along with the video below, we think that everyone will get a little bit of a chuckle. Homer Simpson is very much the average American’s average American. Even though some of us would never purchase the vehicle that he laid out, I think that most of us can relate to this sentiment in one way or another.
Would you spend your hard-earned money to pick up one of Homer’s creations? It would be interesting to see one of these in real life.
