Ford is Officially Bringing Back King Ranch Edition Expedition in 2020
In news that quietly went under the radar, the King Ranch package has been unavailable on the Ford Expedition. The cowboy-inspired luxury package offers a warm appearance with top of the line materials. However, the company decided that one of their truck models didn’t need the trim level. However, for 2020, the King Ranch will be coming back to the Expedition.
Car and Driver tells us that a quarter of all new trucks sold in the country are sent to Texas. It only makes sense that Ford covers all of their bases. Why leave out the trim package that has that Texas feel to it? The outlet tells us that 20 percent of buyers would opt for the current highest tier in the Expedition. That currently exists in the Platinum package. The next tier down in the Limited package would reel in 40 percent of the Expedition’s sales. With the model’s total sales yielding a 56 percent increase in 2019, why not bring back the top tier once again?
Ford’s truck line kind of feels like it’s missing a link without King Ranch branding being an option. There’s just something about the warm brown leather interior that makes the model pop. If that’s not enough for you, the top tier Ford trucks will also feature things like power-deploying running boards, trailer hitch cover, custom painted panels, and roof-rack side rails.
The video below takes us inside of what one can expect in a 2020 King Ranch equipped vehicle. Today, these trucks are outfitted with so many luxurious touches that it seems like there’s almost no reason to turn to a luxury car. For those looking to buy a truck but also want the finer things in life, Ford’s offering with this package is almost too good to turn down.
What do you think about the revival of the King Ranch package to the Expedition nameplate?
