What Are The Best Brake Pads? Cheap vs Expensive Tested!
When it comes to just about every aspect in life, people are trying to save money where they can. I think most folks have found out, at this point, that some areas are better to not skimp on, though. Depending on what we’re looking at, maybe it’s better to just go ahead and pony up the extra investment.
One of those categories where it might just be better to not be cheap is that of stopping your vehicle. After all, nobody wants to hit the brake pedal, only to find out that they don’t have enough stopping power. We certainly aren’t engineers. At that point, we would venture to say that it’s probably a little bit too late, though.
So the grand question of the day is if it’s okay to skip out on things like brake pads. After all, technology has gotten to the point where things can be reproduced at a fraction of the cost with just as good of quality. Are brake pads one of these things or is it simply impossible to be able to produce a high-quality pad at a low price?
Luckily for us, we have channels at our fingertips like Engineering Explained that dive into concepts exactly like this. In this particular demonstration, we’re taking the time out to follow along as our host tells us all about this concept and how it works.
Of course, these results might vary depending on the situation that you find yourself in. We find that it’s best to take a deeper dive depending on the specific application. Different things like performance stopping versus daily driving are obviously going to change the way that you shop for these components.
By following along with the video below, we can absolutely get a good guideline, though. This might help as a jumping-off point as to which direction we might want to lean. After checking this one out, are you sold one way or the other on how to purchase brakes?
