Fighter Pilot Critiques Battlefield 3 F/A-18 Mission
When comes to multimedia entertainment, sometimes, the most entertaining things imitate reality. Naturally, in both movies and video games, those situations that do mimic reality might be a little bit exaggerated.
Furthermore, creative liberties might be taken in order to create the most immersive experience possible. It seems like there is a sort of balancing act that needs to be done here. On one hand, you want a game to feel as real as possible if it’s a simulation. On the other hand, though, if it gets too real, some of the details might drag down the entertainment factor. Gamers don’t need to know every last detail, at the end of the day.
This time, we take the time to check in with an interesting perspective on a video game mission. The game in question is none other than Battlefield 3. In this YouTube video, we join in with a real-life fighter pilot as he reacts to the F/A-18 mission.
In this mission, the gamer will be strapped into a fighter jet and shot into the sky. From there, obviously, they will run into some adversaries for a little bit of airborne combat. When it comes to simulating reality, though, just how real is this mission?
As it turns out, the mission takes the player from underneath the deck of the aircraft carrier all the way up to the point where the aircraft launches. This means that it’s a rather detailed process. Therefore, our host, C.W. Lemoine, was able to critique a wide variety of situations within the mission.
Taking a look at rundowns like this really gives us a good idea of how some of these things might depict reality. At the end of the video, we get a good feeling for if this mission gets the stamp of approval or not.
