The Cheapest Cars That Can Do 200 MPH
For the majority of us in the performance community, we operate on some sort of a budget. Looking around the internet, it might seem like there are some enthusiasts who don’t have such a budget. However, over here in reality for most folks, there is a cap on how much money we can spend.
When it comes to performance, there is certainly a fine line between being cheap and being safe. Let’s just say that there are really some sketchy builds floating around out there that will make you raise an eyebrow.
This time, the idea is to combine the concept of frugality and going fast in a different direction. With this particular compilation by the folks over at Ideal Media, we take a look at the cheapest cars that can go 200 mph. No, this isn’t your junkyard builds with a turbo strapped on top. Instead, these all seem to be cars that come from the factory and are immediately capable of the feat.
When we were thinking about “cheap cars” to be able to climb to 200 mph, the price floor was still rather high in our heads. Approaching the situation, we were expecting somewhere in the ballpark of maybe $50,000-$60,000 to be the least expensive. As it turns out, though, some of these cars can be had for less than $10,000.
In the pursuit of top speed some of these vehicles might need a pretty substantial amount of space. In turn, reliability seems to be one of the factors that is given up in the pursuit of 200. Technically, though, I guess it if you really want to claim that you have a car that’s capable of such speeds, some of these would be a place to start when on a budget.
