OG Murder Nova is Back in Action With a New Big Block!
As it turns out, keeping up with more than one racing machine can be a rather intense handful. Heck, just keeping up with a single car can be tough!
Therefore, it seems like the crew over at 187 Customs has been rather busy lately. Between the “New” Murder Nova and the OG car, we’re looking at more than a full-time job to keep these things going. When we consider working on them, racing them, and traveling, the hours really rack up. Needless to say, it’s certainly a packed schedule and then some.
This time, Phantom is the one bringing us up to speed to get going. At the beginning of this video, he informs us that the job at hand is going to revolve around the OG Murder Nova.
The car has a relatively new combination with a 540ci BBC and it’s going to take some getting used to. Setting up a car with a new engine isn’t as simple as dropping in the engine and rolling. Instead, there are all sorts of metrics that will need to change, some drastically and others slightly, to accommodate the setup.
First up, it’s time to get a little bit of attention from the folks over at FuelTech. First on the agenda is heading to the FuelTech dyno to get a bit of TLC and tuning. From there, the racing will commence at London Dragway, Edgewater sports Park, and Lapeer International Dragway.
With the amount of experience that this team has, it seems like they manage to get the setup dialed in rather quickly. At the beginning of the video, we learn that the car has only made a pair of passes and neither was all that spectacular. At the end of the day, I guess that getting the car down the track and making clean passes the first couple of times is a win, though.
However, before we know it, the car is already on its way to a personal best. That’s pretty impressive with only a couple of outings under their belts.
