Walkaround Shows Off 1150HP 2JZ Swapped, Blacked Out DeLorean.
When it comes to the DeLorean, it seems to be a vehicle that has become known for being the same as every other DeLorean, quite literally. The cars came in one color, stainless steel, and boasted engine architecture that wasn’t really anything to write home about.
While the cars were generally regarded as rather lazy, surprisingly, not many folks have really have bothered to beef up the power selection that much, hold a couple of determined enthusiasts. Sure, there are a couple of swaps here and there that have changed out the engine combination. However, we find that in most cases, these things are left completely stock and any sort of work to them is being done to restore what they once were or to make them Back to the Future replica cars.
On the other hand, though, there are some folks who do have creative minds that have run with the DeLorean DMC-12. In terms of cars that have pop culture impact, there aren’t many other models that fall into the same class as the DMC-12. That hasn’t really seemed to translate into aftermarket modification, though.
This time, we check out a rendering of a DeLorean that we can’t stop looking at. First and foremost, we have to take note that the car has undergone some pretty drastic physical modification. Most of the time, even if one of these cars is bolstered with an engine swap, the appearance is usually left alone. After all, the stainless shell is really what these machines have been known for and it turns out that a lot of modifiers don’t have the heart to mess with it. This example, though, is decked out in all sorts of black. It looks like creativity really took hold of the designer who wanted to try something new and different.
Below, we get to really check out the car as a virtual walk around takes us inside of the machine that has had a heart transplant with the likes of a 2JZ as well. Sure, this might just be a rendering but we can’t help but wonder what it would be like to see you one of these things wandering around the streets.
