Teenage Driver Hits Car in Parking Lot, Ramps Off Another When Fleeing the Scene
For those youngsters just getting behind the wheel of a car for the first time, let us offer you a piece of advice. Should you end up involved in some sort of accident, sticking around and taking responsibility is always the best course of action. Sure, insurance rates might jump up a little bit after a fender bender.
However, a hit-and-run is incredibly illegal and in some cases, a felony. Needless to say, whatever the consequences of owning up for your actions, a felony is probably a much more serious case and something that will stick with you for the rest of your life.
This time, we check in with a video that apparently went viral originally over on TikTok. The video showcases a teen driving what he claims in the video to be his mom’s car. The setting looks like some sort of shopping mall in what we believe to be Alabama.
The person recording the video seems to have flipped on their camera when they discovered that the teen ran into their car in the parking lot. Upon asking the driver for insurance, the teen walks around, gets in the car, and tries to take off. However, the hit and run would quickly be compounded as he would almost immediately run into another vehicle, driving up on the rear bumper of a nearby pickup truck.
After the second collision, it seems as if the driver ended up in some sort of judgemental paralysis. Following the incident, he hops from the driver’s seat and begins to flee away, leaving the vehicle behind. If nothing else, this sort of video should serve as an indicator of what not to do after getting into an accident. For those who do end up in such a situation, handing over insurance information is probably the best-case scenario.
