Ford aluminum Pick Up Trucks Poor Review Hammer Test
When it comes to picking out a car or truck to purchase, one of the major factors that you might consider is exactly how durable it is and exactly how easy or difficult repairs will be should something just so happen to go wrong. This time, we check out a body man’s take on Ford and their aluminum construction, picking it apart and talking about how much more expensive damage will be to fix.
If you’ve missed the comparisons, basically there has been a big throwdown between Ford and Chevy fans and this issue has been split up and looked at in every which way but you could imagine with people arguing for or against the use of aluminum in the construction truck bodies. I’m not sure if we’ll ever truly get to the bottom of it as there has also been speculation that Chevrolet may take the aluminum road soon, but taking a look at a couple of damaged panels might just sway you in one direction or the other when it comes to how you feel about the whole aluminum craze.
Check out the video down below that shows off a Ford F-150 aluminum panel that will take a lot more time, effort, and money to make right. In some cases, the aluminum just needs to be replaced entirely if it’s damaged which, as you can imagine, won’t be so friendly to your wallet. It really begs the question if it’s worth going through replacing steel with aluminum or not. Are there other materials on the horizon that vehicle manufacturers will be looking at to reduce wait and improve strength? I guess that only time will tell but as of now, it looks like consumers might be feeling some ill effects from this experimental use of new metals.
