Big Chief Testing The New Crow for Outlaw Armageddon 2017
When Big Chief and the Midwest Street Cars crew found this car, they had no idea just what they had gotten their hands on. This is the car that was built for the Mega Race throwdown against Fast n’ Loud back in the spring, and since that spectacle, the car has been seeing plenty of time on the street. While the guys from Street Outlaws caught a lot of flack for buying a chassis instead of building one from the ground up, make no mistake: by the time they swapped everything that needed to be updated on the car, there wasn’t much of the car left as it was when it was bought.
What was left, coupled with the updates and upgrades has created a beast of a car, one that Chief didn’t hesitate to call the quickest car he’d ever owned, including the original Crow and the lightweight Crowmod. The car just flat out works. While Chief doesn’t run too many track events, one event that he does always make a point to attend is Outlaw Armageddon, a huge no prep event that takes place just a few miles down the road from OKC in Noble, OK. With over $100,000 on the line for the weekend, Armageddon always brings out most of the stars from Street Outlaws, who also test at the facility throughout the year.
To prepare for the weekend, the track hosts a test session on Thursday, where they move the starting line to the 1/8th mile mark to keep teams from having data about the actual surface used for the races all weekend. As you can see in the footage below, from Big Rob Entertainment, the new Crow is just plain wicked, despite the track being only marginal at best. The car hooks hard and walks the very fine line between hooking and spinning the whole pass, as evidenced by the tires screeching the whole time but not breaking loose. This is a legitimately hateful ride that is going to be a force to be reckoned with on the streets for the foreseeable future!
