Big Chief’s Crow Loses a Door vs Doc Street Beast at Bristol $100k Race

Monday night, the stars of the hit Discovery Channel street racing show Street Outlaws put a whole new spin on the show when they loaded up and headed east to historic Thunder Valley Raceway in Bristol Tennessee for a huge no prep race. Joining the stars of the original show in competing for the $100,000 total purse were several stars of Street Outlaws New Orleans along with some of the biggest names in the world of no prep track racing.

By now most of you know that Big Chief ended up winning, taking the $60,000 winner’s cut of the purse back to Oklahoma City, but he didn’t exaclty have a walk in the park to get there. In fact, early in eliminations he had to face off with one of few people who can claim to have beaten him on the streets of the 405, fellow Top 10 List resident Doc in his Street Beast Monte Carlo.

If you’ve followed the show, you already know Doc and Chief have had some knock-down drag-out battles on the street and on the track, and despite his recent string of bad luck on the show, Doc’s car is still capable of outrunning almost anybody at any time, so Chief and the Midwest Street Cars crew had the new Crow tuned up, hoping those big rear tires grabbed the tricky Bristol track and held on while the Butler Performance Pontiac engine threw all it had at them.

Doc appeared to have a little bit more cautious approach, as you can see his nitrous flames don’t light up until he’s well down track, and Big Chief jumped all over him at the flash of the green lights. As the Crow pulls further ahead, the Street Beast began to drive toward the center line, prompting Doc to wisely shut it down. Chief dumped the chutes early to put an exclamation mark on the win, and as soon as the chutes popped, the passenger door flew off of the car, tumbling down the track. Chief would go on to literally tape the door back on and finished eliminations with it duct taped shut! As we know, though, it didn’t slow him down a bit in his march to Victory lane.
