Boosted Silverado Pickup Blows a Tranny on the Dyno!

When it comes to putting together a project vehicle, there are always lots of things to consider. Once you have your course all mapped out, there can be certain pitfalls that you end up dealing with when it comes to making something create more horsepower than it’s designed for. With something like a work truck that was originally designed for not much more than highway speed and maybe to pull a decent load, slapping a cam and a turbo on it and trying to make it create great power isn’t necessarily something that is going to go down without a hitch every time.

This time, we follow along with just that adventure as YouTuber, BigKleib34, seems to have finally patched together the channel’s Chevrolet Silverado enough to the point where it can hit the dyno rollers to try and make a little bit of power and straight from the start, this really seems like a journey that isn’t going to go so smoothly as it turns out that one or two parts ended up not being exactly correct. However, before long, thanks to help from Matt Happel of Sloppy Mechanics, the truck finds its way to the dyno to see how well the build will hold together.

If you follow along with the video below, you’ll be able to watch as the truck does make a little bit of noise, but before long, the stock transmission ends up giving in to the power. As you might’ve heard in some of the previous videos, it was kind of expected that the transmission wasn’t going to last very long if at all and we get to see it give in as it tries to hold the power on the dyno and simply isn’t having it! It looks like yet another 4L60e bit the dust!
