California Engineers Build Real Life Giant Fighting Robots
Sometimes, you take one look at a headline and figure that it’s better off reserved for science fiction. If we were to tell you about some giant robots that were built to fight one another, you would probably think that it’s a scene out of your favorite movie, however, this time, we catch up with a group of people who decided to take this very sci-fi concept and turn it into a reality as a pair of giant robots were built with the premise of going up against one another as multiple countries would compete in a sort of giant robot throwdown, in the name of going home with the ultimate in bragging rights.
With $2.5 million of investment later, we get to see what the finished product looks like, at least for America’s entry in this contest. We’d have to say that, if you could envision the ultimate giant fighting robot to represent America, this machine would be all that and a bag of chips.
When all was said and done, “Eagle Prime,” America’s ultimate version of a fighting robot, would be geared up and ready to take on the task at hand with plenty of different mechanical helpers on board that was designed with nothing in mind other than the one task of dismantling the opponent.
If you follow along with the video below, you’ll be able to see Eagle Prime, America’s entry in The Giant Robot Duel, as it takes on its first-ever live fire combat trial. If you were thinking that a massive robot that’s designed to fight another robot sounds incredibly cool, well, upon seeing this video, you might just find out that you are indeed absolutely correct. After laying eyes on this thing, be sure to tell us what your favorite part of this massive combat machine is.
