Reaper SS Argues With Chuck at Street Outlaws Live in Edinburg Texas
What good is a night at the races without a little friendly disagreement? In the world of Street Outlaws, it’s basically nonexistent. Even when they load up from the street and head to the track for another taping of Street Outlaws Live. When everybody headed south from OKC to Edinburg Texas to film an episode, two of the more dynamic personalities on the show had a meeting of the minds in the staging lanes.
Chuck, the driver of the Death Trap, who from our understanding was the host or emcee of the event, ran into Reaper’s driver James and sparked up an animated discussion about the Reaper going dead on the starting line. It’s kind of hard to follow at times because the film crew is a little bit in the way of the camera guy, who wisely stays out of their way while trying to capture the argument himself, leaving moments where it’s hard to make out what they two are saying.
From what I can gather, James is upset because his car stalled on the line and he was unable to get it fired in time to take the green light for his race. Both he and his competition were prestaged when Reaper’s car died. Unaware of Goad’s predicament, his opponent staged up, leaving James fighting to get his car started while the mandatory seven seconds ticked away. The Reaper refused to crank within the allotted seconds, an admittedly tight window when you’re trying to crank a hot car that’s died in the beams, and the tree came down, sending the guy in the other lane on his way while James could do nothing more than watch helplessly.
Chuck and James bicker back and forth, with both of them doing a pretty good job of keeping their cool, something we’ve seen both of them struggle with at times. Despite his rather convincing argument, Chuck sticks to his guns, denying Reaper’s request for a rerun because he declared in the driver’s meeting that there would be no reruns for any reason. Reaper handles the decision well and the two go on their ways as the video ends. For those of you looking for another fight, we hate to disappoint. Maybe next time?
