CNC Machining in Ultra Slow Motion is Mesmerizing
This is a beautiful exercise in contradiction.CNC machines, by design and definition, are built to drill, grind, and scrape large chunks of metal into whatever design is loaded into the machine’s computer. While they’re very cool to watch, not many people would call the process relaxing or soothing.
However, as with many other processes or events, if you slow the footage down and zoom in real close, what’s happening is actually amazingly soothing, especially when you add some calming music. Just watch this clip of these CNC machines doing what they do as they go about their business in ultra slow motion, giving us an up-close look at the various tools in action. The high definition footage reveals the precision and power at play as these modern sculptors run through their programmed paths to create the intricate design it has been tasked to make.
We could watch this footage over and over, knowing the incredible speeds these machines run at, but seeing the incredible precision of what’s really taking place in slow motion is nothing short of amazing. We think you’ll agree!
