Crazy Top End Wreck Sends Car Rolling Over the Wall at No Prep
On any given race, there’s really no telling what’s going to happen. This is especially true when it comes to no prep races. During these events, all of the compound and rubber used typically to make a racing surface more friendly, to aid in turning horsepower into traction, is removed. With that, cars are left to slide around a little bit more and be piloted by their drivers, hoping to bring home a decent pass.
This time, thanks to an NXGonzoVideo capture, we tune in with a race from JJ’s Arm Drop. During this race, a pair of formidable competitors in a turbocharged 2JZ powered Nissan 240SX, better known as “Dirty Rice” goes up against a turbocharged Ford Fairmont. The race seems as if it’s pretty clean and all is going well right up until the point where they approach the finish line.
It’s not exactly clear what caused the Fairmont to lose control. However, at the very last second, the Ford begins to veer sideways, coming into the lane of the 240SX and eventually hitting the car on the passenger side.
That’s not the end of it, though, as the 240SX ends up hitting the wall and eventually skipping over it entirely. The car would roll over as well, leaving a damaged carcass of a racing machine after all was said and done. This is yet another moment that shows us just how far safety equipment has come and how important it really is.
By following along with the video below, we get to be taken to the scene from a variety of different angles. At the end of this one, it appears as if it’s going to be time for both of these teams to pick up once again, trying to rebuild with what’s left after such a nasty collision.
