Custom Chevy 454SS Pickup is ONE CLEAN BUILD!
Back in the early 90s, Chevrolet would take a pretty interesting approach to create a muscle truck. In hindsight, the era was pretty much dominated by the GMC Syclone, the mini-truck that would boast a turbocharged V6. However, General Motors also took a stab at a full-size machine as well. The truck, as we know it, is referred to as the Chevrolet 454 SS.
While the model wouldn’t quite stick around for the long-haul, these things have a pretty special place in the hearts of truck enthusiasts everywhere. With just 17,000 examples ever produced, the majority of which came in 1990, it’s kind of hard to find them these days. Don’t get us wrong. At 17,000 units, it’s not the rarest machine to ever exist. However, seeing one at a car show here and there is definitely a special occurrence that’s not going to happen every day. It does make us wonder just how many of these trucks are still sicking around 30 years after their original run.
With the limited production comes an even more limited run of people who are willing to modify them. It’s just not a machine that we see customized all that often. This time, though, we check in with an entire build of a 454SS that really takes the concept and flips it on its head. We see a couple of modernized touches thrown in the mix as someone definitely felt a wave of inspiration to bring new life to this old school Chevrolet.
By following along with the video below, we get to watch the entire build come to life in just a couple of minutes through the power of YouTube. Lots of hard work and a skilled touch had to be invested to bring this truck around. However, we get to watch it all in just 7 minutes!
