Dangerous Fun Playing with 765,000 Volt High Power Transmission Lines
When you get put in the situation of having to deal with a high stress, high-risk position each and every day, the odds are the pay is going to be a little bit better than not. For linemen or those who have to deal with the high voltage electrical lines that hang up above our heads on a regular basis, that’s exactly the case. Now, this would seem like a job where you would be incredibly careful with your every last move, not doing anything away from the textbook definition of how you should do it because one maneuver in the wrong direction could possibly mean quite the electrical charge flowing through your body which, well, isn’t good.
In this one, we watch as a couple of guys are hanging up in a bucket above the ground, right in the proximity of high-voltage power lines that are said to be moving right in the middle of 765,000 volts. I guess that these guys are seasoned veterans because, instead of playing it safe, they’re up there playing with the electricity! We watch as they hold their gloves near the lines and remove them to put on an electrical show that might just have you biting your nails! Those of us who don’t really know what we’re looking at, this definitely looks like something that might be a little bit dangerous and certainly is a ton of fun to watch, especially since we aren’t on their side of the screen.
Follow along down in the video below that puts you on the scene of the playtime with the highly dangerous materials at hand. We wouldn’t necessarily recommend tying yourself up in something like this but it’s definitely something that ends up being quite entertaining to watch. Maybe some people who are well versed in the electrical field can chime in and tell us exactly what’s going on here and why it either is incredibly stupid or incredibly harmless.
