This Dealer Package is a Close as Buyers Can Get to a “Hellcat Truck”
As we look over the horizon, there are some automotive models that we are incredibly excited about. As the industry would have it, manufacturers tend to tease us a little bit with some of their offerings. This is usually to stir up interest in the future of the company. Perhaps brands won’t fully unveil something or maybe, they will but won’t give us the release date.
With something like the Ram Rebel TRX, we get a little bit of the latter. We have seen most of what this truck is going to offer and it has us excited! At the heart, it will have power from a Hellcat. That’s just the beginning as it has a ton of other cool features for the performance truck fanatic as well. However, the only news that we have on the release date is that it will come no later than the 2022 model year. While that’s better than nothing, we, as performance nuts, are always searching for specifics.
I’m not sure about anyone else but for me, that’s a long time to wait. For others who might be a little bit impatient, there are several different options to get into a performance truck. Obviously, for those two are okay with swapping to an SUV, something like the Hellcat-powered Trackhawk might be an option. However, as far as Mopar performance trucks, there isn’t much in the gasoline-powered realm. One option that does exist, though, comes in the form of a dealer package that’s rather enticing.
By picking up a 2017 Ram 1500 sport with the Rocky Ridge package, we get to see a regular cab short bed come to life. With the regular cab, short bed platform taking off in the aftermarket, it only makes sense that something like this is tested out. With this package, we see a 5.7L Hemi topped with a Magnuson TVS 2300 supercharger. The truck rolls with other supporting modifications like the cold air intake, exhaust, and 3.29 rear axle gear. When combined with a lowering kit, this 500+ horsepower truck is sure to be a blast to drive.
