Dennis Collins Chases Down One of the World’s Most Desirable Pontiac Trans Ams
One of the things that we can’t help but love about Dennis Collins is that the guy is a walking automotive encyclopedia. No matter what car we want to know about or what generation it’s from, we would wager that Collins probably knows a good amount about what exactly makes specific versions of the car special. Over the years, he seems to have put together a rather eclectic bit of knowledge about a little bit of everything that car enthusiasts might find interesting.
As we move into the 2020s, it turns out that this classic car knowledge is moving into the 2000s as well. With something like a 2002 Pontiac Firebird, while many of us grew up with these fourth-generation f-body cars being brand new, it’s getting to the point where the early 2000s were producing cars that don’t even come close to resembling what’s on the road today.
With that, in this particular episode of Coffee Walk, Collins taps into a car that is the must-have Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The machine in question is a 2002 model year which makes it the last year that the Trans Am was ever produced. In addition, it has the sought-after WS6 package, complete with a six-speed transmission and a very rare LS6 engine block option. To put the icing on the cake, the car only has 2,691 miles on it and has been preserved immaculately over the years.
At the end of the day, we have to say that this car is much cleaner than the rest that Collins typically brings home. Instead of needing a restoration, this thing is looking like it came straight from the showroom. In fact, underneath, we find that some of the components still have the original paper stickers on them from the factory. It doesn’t get much more pristine than that!
