Dodge’s Ram Warlock Aims To Bring Value Back To Truck Shopping
There’s no denying that, even taking inflation into consideration, the price of modern pickup trucks is soaring. I don’t have to quote numbers, I know most of you have stopped by the dealership at some point in the past few years and noted that it seems as if they just add $10,000 to the price every couple of years, no matter if you want a top of the line luxury family tow vehicle or a stripped down work truck.
This special Warlock edition Dodge Ram aims to combat that trend by offering buyers a legitimate special edition truck for what I believe most will consider a very reasonable price, especially taking into account what all you get for your hard earned dollars.
The Warlock, a throwback to the 70’s for the diehard Pentastar fans out there that remember the original from the late 70’s, is mostly a cosmetic package consisting of blacked-out front and rear bumpers, it’s own front end design, blacked out wheels and custom graphics and badging. While the original Warlock was only available in black, the 2019 edition is available in 9 colors, and can be configured in crew- and quad-cab layouts. Buyers who choose the 4×4 option will get a truck with a 1” lift from the factory, while all Warlocks will come with heavy duty front and rear shocks underneath.
Inside, the Warlock is pretty standard fare. The only option for color is Diesel Gray, a 7” gauge cluster display, leather steering wheel and an overhead console. There are some options available, such as spray-in bed liner, blacked out side steps and heated seats, but those will add to the bottom dollar. Power comes from either the 305 horsepower V6 or a 395 horsepower 5.7 liter V8, both of which are mated to 8-seed automatic transmissions.
Pricing starts at $37,000 which as most of you know is about as cheap as any 4-door pickup on the market today. You can build your own on Dodge’s website or visit your local dealership to order your own.
