POV: Erik Jones Evades 200 MPH Crash, Daytona 500

Being competitive in a NASCAR race is certainly no walk in the park. With insane speeds that reach out and touch 200 mph and competitors banging on the door in almost every portion of the race, it could be quite a stressful experience. All of this is true regardless of if there’s an accident or not. If an accident does occur, things get thrown into even a bigger pressure cooker as drivers are forced to deal with a whole new set of stressful circumstances. However, every once in a while, a couple of drivers might get incredibly lucky when a wreck unfolds.

This time, we ride along with Erik Jones as he makes his way around the track with less than 10 laps to go at the Daytona 500! Of course, as history would have it, this is when a pretty big accident that wiped out nearly half the pack would begin to unfold. Jones would find himself in the hot seat, right in the thick of things where it appeared as if every single car in the wake of this thing was going to be taken out. However, somehow, he would manage to emerge on the other side, picking up a great amount of position as he avoided the accident and drove his way all the way to a third-place finish.

By following along with the video below, we get to ride along with Jones and see exactly how he kept his composure in the middle of an intense moment. A situation like this has to take a variety of confidence, luck, and driving ability to be able to come out on the other side of cleanly. It seems like Jones really managed to stay focused and hit his marks perfectly in order to stay the course and remain steady to find his way to a desirable place in the field.
