Ford Decides That They’re No Longer Unveiling New Bronco On O.J. Simpson’s Birthday

When it comes to a vehicle model being related to an individual, there isn’t a much stronger link than O.J. Simpson and his white Ford Bronco. Even those who weren’t alive during that time likely remember the story. After being accused of the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ronald Goldman, Simpson would flee.

This is when the infamous footage of the incredibly slow police chase involving the Bronco would make its way to television screens around the world. The case would be cemented in history and remembered forever after the awkward moment had Simpson half-heartedly trying to shove his hand in a glove. Johnnie Cochran would then coin the legendary “If It Doesn’t Fit, You Must Acquit” phrase. To the shock of the world, Simpson would be acquitted.

Fast forward to 2020 and it has been over two decades since the Bronco has been in production. However, after endless cheers for the model, the SUV will finally be coming back for 2021. Ford has kind of kept most of the model close to their chests aside from a couple of leaked images.

The brand would eventually set the date of July 9, 2020 to finally unveil all that they had been working on. However, as you’ve probably guessed by now, that date coincides with the birthday of one of the most infamous Bronco owners ever.

As the company didn’t want to be involved with one of the most storied murder cases of all-time, they decided to move the date. The official unveil of the SUV will now be coming on July 13th. While the whole thing is incredibly unlikely, Ford says the situation is “Purely coincidental.”
