Ford Recalls Some 2015 Mustangs… 53 Of Them To Be Exact

The 2015 Ford Mustang should be hitting dealer lots all around the country throughout the month of October. It’s a highly anticipated machine that should get enthusiasts and fans of the brand excited, and other potential shoppers walking into showrooms. Also, it’s already been recalled.

Well, not all new Mustangs really. It’s just a few that have been hit with a minor recall. To be more specific, 53 examples in total require a bit of attention. That’s 50 here in the States and three up in America’s hat. The issue stems from a passenger seat belt buckle assembly, which Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F] tells us has not been correctly calibrated from the parts supplier.

If a passenger sits in a seat with a non or incorrectly calibrated assembly, the buckle tension sensor doesn’t register the person sitting in the seat correctly. This could lead to injury (or worse) in the event that an airbag is deployed.

Ford dealers holding on to one or more of the 53 affected vehicles will replace the parts. There have been zero injuries or instances reported relating to this issue, so it’s something seemingly minor that was caught before anything severe happened.

Enjoy your 2015 Mustangs and light up the tires in celebration of their arrival.
