Ford Releases Pricing On The 2020 Mustang GT500

When a car like the Shelby GT500 drops, we want to know every last detail that we possibly can. From the power to the electronics and everything in between, we just can’t help ourselves. After all, with the horsepower wars heating back up, releases like these are more exciting than ever.

Recently, we did learn that the GT500 is going to make a ground pounding 760 hp. That’s absolutely absurd for a production car. It will place it right up there in the ranks of the most powerful production cars in 2020. The only detail yet to make its way out is the price tag. We have just gotten word of what buyers are going to be looking at when they crack open their wallets.

The 2020 GT500 will start at $74,000 and top out at $95,000 fully loaded. That will position the car higher than all the other top tier muscle cars. It flies past the 650 hp Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 ($64,695 starting price) and 797 hp Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye ($73,440 starting price). We’re also left to believe that those who want to get their hands on one early are going to have to deal with the dreaded dealer markup. When a car is in high demand, which we’re sure the Shelby will be, dealers like to gouge the market as much as they can.

The revelation of the price point has analysts scrambling to figure out how the car is going to be received. We’re super excited to see how the car comes together. With the track record that the GT500 has put together, it’s looking like the car may potentially be the best performer in class.

It leaves one question to ponder around the water cooler, though. Will enthusiasts be able to stomach the fact that a Mustang is the highest priced in the class?
