In the scheme of racing, few races are more exciting that brand battles, especially when a new product rolls off of the assembly line. This time, that product comes in the form of nothing other than the new Dodge Challenger Hellcat. What cars are fit to line up with the Hellcat? This time it’s the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 that wants to try its hand at Dodge’s most vicious Challenger ever mass produced.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is fitted with a supercar-baiting 707hp 6.2-liter supercharged engine and offers class-leading levels of acceleration and unmatched tire-melting ability. Either a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission sends the hurt to the rear wheels. Handling and ride are not quite as awe-inspiring but there is class-leading interior space and the comprehensive equipment levels include an 18-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, park assist, and blind spot and rear cross path detection.
The Chevrolet Camaro is a sports car that slots underneath the SS sports sedan. It is sold in coupe or convertible body styles, seven trims and four engines choices. All models are mated to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
