How to Fill a Tire with Foam, No More Flat Tires. DIY Life Hack
We all have to deal with flat tires at some point in our lives, and most of the time it means we have to buy a new tire to replace the damaged one. However, that’s not always the case, especially with lighter-duty tires like those on mowers and snowblowers.
We have seen various solutions, from quick patches to full-on repair options, but one of the easier fixes is to just fill the tire with expanding foam. The foam will expand inside the tire and work well to support the load itself, eliminating the need for the tire to retain air. The biggest drawback to using foam to fill a tire is how long it takes to set.
Generally, any of these products take between 8 and 24 hours before they’re fully set and ready to use. As you can see at the end of this short video, the tire is solid when it’s mounted back onto the snowblower, ready for another season of slinging snow without the owner having to cough up the cash for a new tire.
