How to Set Dirt Bike up For The Snow So You Can Rip All Winter
Winters for us here at Speed Society generally consist of temperatures that are only moderately cooler than the summers. We rarely get snow and ice in Southern California, but for a lot of you, icy conditions are as common as taco trucks here in San Diego. So while a motorcycle enthusiast here wouldn’t have to change anything to ride though the winter, if you live where it actually gets cold enough for ice, you probably assume you have to lock away your two-wheeled fun machine when the frozen precipitation starts to fall.
The Finland-based bike stunt badasses from Stunt Freaks Team say that’s crazy! These guys have hours of footage of their guys riding on the ice and snow during the blustery Finnish winters, and in this short video, they show you what all you need to do to get your street bike or dirtbike prepared to do the same. Not too many mods are required, and you probably have the necessary tools right there in your garage, so watch this clip for the info on what to do, then hit the ice lakes or frozen roadways – though it would be prudent for us to insert a “If you do this, do so at your own risk” warning at this point – for some winter riding fun.
