This method of unlocking your car door just might actually work, as opposed to some other methods we’ve seen out there.

With nothing more than a few feet of string and what probably actually takes a few minutes of extreme patience, this does seem like a viable solution to the worst way to start your day, as long as your vehicle has those little knobs sticking up for the door locks. Simply tying the string into a slipknot and threading it between the door and doorjamb, you can try to finesse the loop around the top of the lock knob, then tighten it carefully by pulling on the opposite ends of the string, then pulling the lock knob up and opening the door.

This won’t work with all vehicles, but it’s certainly better than calling a locksmith or AAA to solve a problem that nobody wants to have.
