Jeremy Clarkson Gets Emotional on Grand Tour Episode – “This is the Last One”
17 years.
The amount of time that Clarkson, May, and Hammond have been on air is quickly approaching two decades. For a lot of people, they will never stay on the same career path that long let alone achieve this height of a level of success. Not only has this incredible trio achieved the highest levels of success in automotive journalism. They have managed to maintain that success over quite a long run. Normally, people will get tired of something and move onto the next thing. However, with a relatively familiar format, these three have stayed on top for years.
In the final episode of The Grand Tour in 2019, they would make an announcement, though. The show, as we know it, isn’t going to continue in the format that it currently exists. During the announcement, Jeremy Clarkson actually showed a softer side of himself, tearing up a little bit when he made the announcement.
The crew isn’t going away altogether. Clarkson informs us that they plan on continuing in a little bit different dynamic. However, the audience and studio seem to be falling by the wayside. Instead, they are probably going to be filming more segments in the field from now on. It’s not exactly clear if this has to do with the ongoing pandemic. However, we wouldn’t be entirely shocked if that was a big part of it.
Below, we get the heartfelt message that the three send to the fans. It’s hard not to get a little bit choked up just watching this because these three have been the meat and potatoes of what the automotive industry is all about. If you could find a car guy or a girl who doesn’t know about Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond, we will show you someone who’s really not a car enthusiast at all.
