BREAKING: The Rock Is Out! John Cena Added To Next Fast And Furious Movie
Just when we thought that the Fast and Furious franchise couldn’t get any crazier, along comes an announcement that has shaken the Furious Universe. Over the years, this thing has gotten larger than anyone had ever anticipated. Even after it was released, I’m not even sure that those closest to the movie could’ve seen this many sequels. The growth is really astounding! We’ve seen lots of names enter the fold. The story has grown much larger. Everyone from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to Jason Statham have joined in. We’d need an entire article to dig into all of the A-listers that are part of the family now. This time, another gets introduced to the massive stack of films.
In a recent Instagram video, Vin Diesel took the opportunity to introduce John Cena to the Furious Universe. In the post, Diesel would recite “I know this sounds crazy but every blue moon I feel like Pablo up there sends me someone. I know they sold you for the fight for truth and today someone came by the Toretto gym that speaks to what Pablo would’ve brought me.” This is when the camera would pan over to John Cena.
“Pablo,” for those wondering, is how Diesel refers to the late Paul Walker. When factoring this into the announcement, it seems that Cena is a sure thing for an upcoming installment. The most likely would be Fast and Furious 9 that’s due May 22, 2020. This comes in addition to rumors that Lucas Black, known as “Sean Boswell” from Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift could be returning to the movie. However, with the concept that the franchise is trying to build, this “universe,” maybe there will be another direction. Perhaps, Cena will be the star of his very own spinoff.
As for Cena’s role, we have absolutely no idea. After all, with this franchise, we’ve learned that it’s best not to guess. It’s taken so many twists and turns that have brought surprise to theaters that we’ve learned our lesson on that front. If there’s one thing for sure, it’s that Cena’s presence is going to draw some eyes. It seems as if his role as the face of WWE is winding down. This jump into the Furious universe makes a lot of sense for him.
Perhaps this move will bolster him into a respectable acting career. In a recent Wrestlemania appearance, Cena himself, made a joke in gest referring to his on-screen career, citing “I feel like I’m watching one of my movies because this whole d*mn thing sucks.” Don’t worry, John, there’s still hope!
