Matthew McConaughey Offers Life Lesson From Buying His First Sports Car

For many of those who have managed to achieve the success that Matthew McConaughey has, it has come with a lot of learning experiences. Most didn’t just wake up and fall into famous-ness one day. Instead, just like anybody else, most have had their fair share of ups and downs. In order to figure out how to have more ups instead of downs, McConaughey has decided to document his entire journey in a diary. Essentially, the idea is that when he finds himself in a rut, he will go back and see what he was doing back when he wasn’t in a rut.

This time, he takes a look back over time and recalls a couple of stories that might not have panned out for him. Perhaps, some of these anecdotes might make us reflect on our own lives and look at the way that we think about the world. This is especially prevalent for car fans when we think about what we drive.

For some, we might picture ourselves behind the wheel of some hot car and attracting the attention of a love interest because of it. However, McConaughey recalls a tale where maybe that wasn’t exactly the case, even though he expected it to be. Instead, we might even say that he witnessed the exact opposite.

After trading in his pickup truck for a hot new sports car, McConaughey recalls that he stopped getting attention from the ladies. Instead, he kind of leans into the idea that he substituted having a personality for the sports car. When that didn’t pan out, he would actually end up heading back to the dealership that he traded his truck into for the car and made a trade back.
