Midwest Street Cars Cranks 1,100HP Out Of A Daily Driven Silverado.

I love everything about this video. Jaw-dropping footage it isn’t, but I’ve had a hole in my heart for a few years now that only a single cab GM pickup truck will be able to fill, so until I find the right truck for the right price, I’ll just have to settle for videos like this that keep my heart pumping.

Midwest Street Cars’ very own Phantom also has a soft spot for single cab Chevy trucks, and with access to the rest of the team at MWSC and their know-how and parts hookups, I think we all knew his truck wouldn’t stay stock very long at all. However, I’m not even going to pretend that I wasn’t surprised by the massive numbers this thing put down.

I don’t know any details about the build, but knowing Phantom I can take a guess that its a built 6.0-liter bottom end, likely bored and stoked out to a 408” CID, with good heads and, based on the sounds heard during the dyno pull, a pretty good sized ProCharger. That could be all wrong, but Phantom doesn’t usually half-ass anything, so I have to assume this is a pretty well-built combination. The 1,100 horsepower the truck put down to the wheels certainly backs up that assumption.

Don’t get me wrong, we’ve all heard about that magical stock bottom end 5.3 with stock heads and a huge turbo that cranked out four-digit horsepower, but those setups tend to not live too long at that power level, and I believe Phantom would gladly spend more money on a reliable build than throw a bunch of boost at a cheap engine just to put up a big number on the dyno.

Regardless of any of this, the truck looks awesome and is clearly making a ton of power. This is pretty much my dream truck at the moment, so I wanted to share it with all of you guys and gals!
