NASCAR – Dale Jr.’s Prodigy, William Byron, Celebrates Title in Miami Fashion
If you take a look at up and coming star, William Byron, you might just see a future that’s nothing but bright. This past weekend, he managed to take home the win as the newly crowned champion for the NASCAR Xfinity Series shortly before his scheduled jump to the big leagues next season as he’s scheduled to be a full-time competitor in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. I guess you could say that his exit from Xfinity is certainly one that went off with a bang as he made his way all the way to the top and departed!
This time, it’s all about the celebration as we’re able to watch the number 9 Chevrolet Camaro shredding tires in celebration of the class win. While winning one race is hard enough, maintaining a positive record over an entire series is a whole new level of effort to be commended.
The final race really came down to the wire as Byron would pass fellow championship competitor, Elliot Sadler, with just eight laps remaining, making himself the highest placing driver of the four that were in the chase for the Cup. When the dust finally settled, he was able to turn it into a third-place finish with Sadler coming in eighth. The ranking in the field, ahead of all other finalists, was enough to help him make his way to the championship.
Follow along in the video below that allows you to enjoy the one moment that would celebrate the sealed deal as William Byron would be able to add his name to the list of those that could consider themselves “champion.” The victory comes at the tail end of a hard fought season that would bring another title to the JR Motorsports stable, adding a nice little victory as icing on the cake as a retirement gift for team owner, Dale Jr.
