Nasty 1,400+HP ProCharged SBC on the Engine Dyno
Steve Morris Engines has built a stellar reputation for building reliable, powerful engines out of his Muskegon, Michigan facility, and he’s done so thanks to projects like this.
This is what Steve refers to more than once as a “basic package, straight off the website”, meaning you or I could pick up the phone and order five of these today and it would be no problem to either pick up all of the components and assemble them, or pick them up ready to drop into your hotrod. The reason that’s an option is because Morris and his employees have carefully selected those components based on their research and development, so they know what works together and why, something a lot of companies can’t claim.
This engine is an admittedly basic small block Chevy – don’t get me wrong, Dart blocks and AFR heads are hardly run-of-the-mill parts, but in this world, they’re far from exotic – that churns out damn near 1,500 horsepower at only 23 pounds of boost and a nice, safe air-fuel ratio in the tune. Thanks to the big F2 ProCharger, C16 race fuel and Morris’ expert tuning, the engine had no problem cranking out 1,440 HP and 1025 ft/lbs of torque. We just can’t wait to see what the owner does with it!
