Never Remove A Radiator Cap While The Car Is Still HOT!
If you weren’t aware then allow us be your safety trainer for the day. Removing your radiator cap when your car is hot could cause quite an unpleasant situation and you want to make sure to avoid it at all costs.
When the system is hot, it’s pressurized and with all that pressure, when you remove your radiator cap, violently hot coolant will come spewing out and will claim anything that’s in its path. Some people have had to learn that lesson the hard way but you don’t have to!
This time, we come across a couple of guys to just seem to need to gain access to the radiator on their LS Swapped Mazda RX-7 so they remove the cap and hold a cover over the front of the engine bay to try and avoid a situation where hot coolant ends up flying everywhere. Long story short: they failed miserably and are truly lucky that nobody got hurt in this debacle.
